Power Up STEM Scholarship for tertiary students

Description of the Opportunity

Applications are now open for the JPS Foundation Power Up STEM Scholarship, targeting tertiary students enrolled in accredited institutions in Jamaica. If you are studying a STEM field at a Jamaican university, this is your opportunity to receive financial support to help you achieve your goals.

The scholarship is valued at up to $500,000 per academic year. It is only valid for the academic year immediately following the award’s offer and cannot be deferred for any reason. The scholarship is renewable annually for a maximum of four years.

Eligibility

• Enrolled in an accredited tertiary institution in Jamaica
• Be accepted to pursue / pursuing a first degree in a STEM-related area
• Demonstrated high academic performance (3.0 or above GPA, CSEC, CAPE etc.)
• Demonstrated engagement in extra-curricular and/or volunteer work
• Demonstrated financial need
• Proof of acceptance to/enrolment in an accredited undergraduate degree programme in Jamaica, or, in the case of the University of the West Indies, one of the campuses in the region
• Most recent high school report or tertiary academic transcript
